What Is Scrupulosity OCD?

Do you love God, but feel overwhelmed by anxiety, guilt, and fear? Do you often worry that you are failing spiritually or have offended God? Do you struggle with unwanted and disturbing thoughts? Do you intellectually believe biblical teachings about God's love, forgiveness and grace, but still wrestle with constant doubts? Do you repeatedly pray, confess, research, or seek reassurance but the fear and endless questions persist? If this sounds familiar, you may be struggling with scrupulosity OCD, also known as religious or moral OCD. You don’t have to navigate the anxiety and confusion alone!

I’m Rachel and I’m certified as a Master Mental Health Coach and Brain Health Coach through the International Board of Christian Care. I work via secure video conference with clients struggling with scrupulosity. It’s important to know that OCD is not a faith problem or a knowledge problem; it is a brain-based processing disorder. It is not something you can solve by trying harder, doing more, or finally finding the perfect answer.

Scrupulosity can make the God you long to draw close to seem distant, impossible to please, or constantly disappointed in you. It doesn't have to stay that way. The intrusive thoughts, doubts, and fears you experience are not a reflection of who you are or of your desire to love and follow Jesus. They are symptoms of the way OCD processes uncertainty and threat.

I can help you understand what is happening in your brain and recognize how the OCD cycle actually works. I can equip you with practical tools so you can begin changing the patterns that reinforce anxiety and doubt. My approach honors your faith and helps you move toward a relationship with God rooted in trust rather than fear. If specialized clinical care beyond what coaching can provide would be beneficial, I can explain your options and help you feel more prepared and empowered to take that next step.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation where you can learn more about scrupulosity OCD and mental health coaching and discern whether working together would be a good fit for you. Whether you are just beginning to understand scrupulosity or are looking for additional support on your healing journey, I would be honored to walk with you toward greater peace, freedom, and confidence in God's love and faithfulness.
